Growing up in evangelical churches back in the 80's and 90's, I constantly heard the message that D & D was utterly Satanic. And stories kept circulating that young people had become so obsessed with the game that when their character in the game got killed, they ended up committing suicide. But I later learned those were nothing more than urban legends, along with a lot of the other "Satanic panic" circulating then.
